It is very important for myself and college students to manage their personal brand online. It's becoming harder and harder to find jobs no of days. Businesses are looking online to figure out if you would be a good candidate or not. If marketers can get important about what your searching online, businesses for sure can find things about you.
Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, even Myspace is a public site, unless you change your security, ANYONE can view your profile. One tip I would give to anyone trying to get a job or to protect their identification, is to change your security settings. Make all your personal information stay between you and the people you are friends with.
For myself it is very important to protect my online brand, I represent a organization much larger then myself, the U.S Army. People could view my profile and find misleading information and it could look badly against the Army and myself.
Just remember the internet is world wide, people all around the world could be viewing YOU!
